Best wishes, Interim Chancellor Robinson and Interim Provost Martin ********* The Research Recovery Grant program will offer grants up to $5,000 that will be one-to-one matched by colleges (including in-kind matches). Funds may be used for the costs of carrying out research projects and will conform to UA procedures and policies. Eligibility: pre-tenure assistant professors and tenured associate professors who can demonstrate a loss in research and creative activity that has thwarted their progress towards promotion Award amount: $5,000 from the central fund and $5,000 or more from the dept./college Grant term: One year—May 15, 2022 to May 14, 2023 Proposal due date: 5:00 pm – Friday, April 15, 2020 Proposal Submission Guidelines: Submit one pdf file with the following components: 1) Statement of pandemic impact on research productivity (max 2 pages): This may include a discussion of increased caregiving responsibilities, personal health, increased mentoring activities, grants loss, publication slowdowns, inability to travel to research sites, lab shutdowns, etc. 2) Request justification (max 1 page): Short description of research and its impact on promotion trajectory, why the funds are needed, and how the funds will be used. 3) Existing Institutional Support (max 1 page): List existing support, such as current and pending grants, RIF, startup, departmental support. 4) Budget (max 1 page): Include an itemized list of expenses that total the amount requested. 5) CV (max 5 pages) Combine all sections into ONE pdf file.
